Saskatoon police continue to investigate after a domestic disturbance in the King George neighbourhood that resulted in a standoff on Thursday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m., police received a report of a domestic disturbance involving an injured woman in a home in the 700 block of Weldon Avenue. They were told she had climbed out a window onto the roof, where she flagged down a passerby for help, police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they established a perimeter around the home. Firefighters used a ladder to help the injured woman off the roof and she was treated by paramedics.

Investigating officers learned that a possibly armed man could still be inside, the release said. Tactical support, canine and crisis negotiation teams were called in.

After several unanswered attempts to contact anyone inside and order them out, officers entered and found no one there.

Traffic restrictions were in place during the incident and have been lifted.
