Industrial production grows 4.9 per cent in March against 1.9 per cent expansion a year ago, shows govt data.

Opposition leaders on Friday welcomed the interim bail given to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Supreme Court, saying the “fight to save democracy” will now be with more intensity. Congress leader Pawan Khera hoped former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren also gets due justice.

“This is the victory of truth…I thank the Supreme Court for coming forward to save the Constitution and democracy. Arvind Kejriwal will come out of Tihar Jail this evening and I am sure he will address the people of Delhi and the country,” Delhi Minister  and AAP leader Atishi said on Friday.

“Jai Hanuman! This is the victory of democracy. It is the result of prayers and blessings of lakhs and crores of people. Many thanks to everyone,” Sunita Kejriwal,  Arvind Kejriwal’s wife said, after the chief minister was granted interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court. 

“The eyes of every citizen of the country are moist with happiness, their brother, their son Arvind Kejriwal is about to come out of jail. The jail locks will be broken this evening and Kejriwal will be released,” AAP MP Raghav Chadha  said after Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

-Delhi CM Kejriwal is not allowed to visit chief minister’s office and Delhi Secretariat.

-Delhi CM Kejriwal shall have to furnish bail bonds of Rs 50,000 with one surety of like amount for release from Tihar jail.

-Delhi CM  Kejriwal will not interact with any witnesses or have access to official files connected with case.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to furnish bail bonds of Rs 50,000 with one surety of like amount for release from Tihar jail, according to the bail order issued by the Supreme Court.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal shall not visit chief minister’s office and Delhi Secretariat, the Supreme Court said today while granting him interim bail. 

“Today’s Supreme Court verdict of granting interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal has proved that the truth has won, democracy has won, and the Constitution of the country has won. Whenever our Constitution was threatened, the Supreme Court has come to protect it. Even today, Supreme Court’s decision to grant interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal to participate in election campaigns will protect our country’s democracy,” AAP leader Atishi said at a press conference on SC’s decision to grant interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

“Getting interim bail in 40 days is more than a miracle. Through SC, it is a hint from God that whatever is happening in India, a change is needed in that. Arvind Kejriwal has the blessings of Lord Bajrangbali and today he will come out of jail. I think it’s not an ordinary thing and he is coming out of jail for a big purpose,” AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Friday after the top court granted interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

 

“The court decision is right. BJP had attempted to block him from campaigning for elections. It is BJP’s policy to send all Opposition leaders behind bars and stop them from campaigning for the elections in one way or the other. This is a stop on the dictatorship they had started. BJP is facing a crushing defeat across the country. This decision will strengthen the ecosystem,” AICC in-charge of Delhi and Haryana Deepak Babaria said after the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

After news broke that Delhi CM Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, AAP party workers dance and  raise slogans at the party headquarters.
