Canadian National team member and Colgate standout Danielle Serdachny is the newest member of PWHL Ottawa.

The 23-year-old Edmonton native was the No. 2 overall selection in the PWHL draft conducted in St. Paul Minn. She will not have any trouble finding a friendly face in that Ottawa locker room having playing with the likes of Brianne Jenner, Emily Clark and Ashton Bell with Team Canada.

Serdachny also has a history with Carla MacLeod, another Alberta native who coached Serdachny when she was in Grade 12 as the two won a Canada Winter Games gold medal in a bit of an upset for Team Alberta.

Serdachny has had quite a year already, scoring the overtime winning goal for Canada at the World Championships in Utica, NY.

There was a thought that Serdachny might even go first overall ahead of Georgetown native Sarah Fillier because of her connections after five years of playing under new PWHL New York head coach and Kingston native Greg Fargo at Colgate.
New York though stuck with Fillier allowing Serdachny to fall to Ottawa.
